Kara's Destiny Original Short Story by Cecilia Okugo 10/11/25

 



One night Kara had a car accident on the road with a truck driver. 

The truck driver was at fault. When the truck driver exited the truck to see if Kara was ok he rushed to be by her side when he saw the car was on its side. 


Kara was screaming for help. The truck driver said hi my name is Tony I'll get you out. Tony pushed the car until it was right side up and pulled Kara out of the window.


Kara was crying and couldn't believe she was safe. Kara thanked Tony for saving her. The Police, Ambulance πŸš‘ and Fire πŸš’ Fighters Arrived to care for the injured. They rush Kara to the Hospital πŸ₯ and Tony was right by her side. Kara fractured her leg and shoulder. Tony was worried he'd loose his Commercial Driving License πŸͺͺ.


Now at the hospital a day has passed and Kara woke full a deep sleep from all the medicine πŸ’Š πŸ’‰. Tony said Hi Kara, I couldn't leave you until I knew you were safe and well.

Once Tony saw that Kara was up and on her way to a speedy recovery, he could finally leave and go home to get some rest 


Several weeks had passed. Tony arrived at the hospital to check on Kara but she wasn't there. Tony asked the front desk for Kara's last name. The clerk said Kara's last name is Richard’s.


Tony went to his car and called the police station about the car wreck and to retrieve a number for Kara Richards. They gave it to him. 


Tony called for Kara, she answered his call on the first ring. Hi Kara I'm Tony the man who hit your car on the road I was calling to see how you were. Is everything ok can I do anything? Kara replied that she was fine. Sadly the wreck made me miss carry my 🍼. Although Kara was unaware she pregnant.


Hope you don't find this odd but would you consider going on a date with me Tony said.

Kara agreed. They'd become close the more they frequent themselves. The car wreck was their destiny

 to be together.

A man falls blissfully in love with a woman only she’s in for a ride of her life.

In denial of his floundering ways she finds out she’s not the only woman.

The woman finds herself swamped with problems from his exes.


She demands it stops yet as a Mason the man proves he’s in charge by sticking

to his brotherhood and ways. Can she get out safe without losing everything.


“I couldn’t be with you. I don’t like me for you. Everyday of your life you left the right man.”


She’s not going to play second and he is not going to have a ruler over his life.


Franklin saves Anna from her failing past but she’s awfully in love with the way Franklin treats her.

He gave her the world but only demands one thing is to respect his living wishes and honor him as

a man. Don’t medal, Don’t snoop, Don’t lie. Anna makes herself known when she discovers all the

drama and women that Franklin is hiding. 


Nights of passion keep them together but a lack of experience is what keeps Franklin running back

to his favorite women. Many times she prayed and asked for guidance but Franklin is a stickler for

his ways as a Mason. His wife is to look beautiful land obey no exceptions. Everything outside of that

would cause a problem for Anna. Anna is set to have a new baby when she's walks in on Franklin

sleeping other women. She demands for the woman to leave and he to stop his antics.

She begs on bended knee for him to please stop punishing her for not being sexually experienced. 


Anna knew she was boring and inexperienced and she wanted so much just to please Franklin just

like any house wife. Franklin yells obscenities and demands his respect for her to leave the room.

She doesn’t, he slaps her and pushes her out of the room.


With a baby coming soon she is heart broken because a stranger is now living in her home.

Curious she ease drops and peaks in on her husbands love making with his new lady.

She tries her best to keep quite but when Franklin is  away she’s often picking at his new lady

about being in her home. The woman was a shell of herself she did anything Franklin asked.

Anna wasn’t the type, she just obeyed, did house work, was as sweet as she could be and

made love to him when he wanted.


Anna wasn’t going to play second and he was going to take orders or demands on how to behave


in his house. Anna tries to invite new four play into the bedroom but he’s not interested at all.


Anna doesn’t come close to what he’s used to and Franklin is barely interested now that he has

NEW guest.


Anna decides two can play the game and calls her old boyfriend for pointers and tips on how to please

Franklin. Tempted in the moment Anna has one great big slip. While pregnant she sleep off on Franklin

and when he finds out he puts her out. He said she disrespected his seed sleeping around while

pregnant. Without Franklins security Anna finds herself without her needs being met.


She was quite codependent on her husband and didn’t realize it until they broke up.


Anna could have very well waited until Franklin gave the green light fro better sex but she was impatient

and scared of loosing her husband. Franklin remarries and disowns Anna baby.

Anna catches wind that the new woman of his life has to deal with more than expected because

of his heart break.

Lydia's Birthright | Short Story by Cecilia Okugo


A young girl from Texas learns that her birth right was sold to her younger sister. Her reconnected with apologies for the past. Is it too late to reconcile.

Elonaore marries Oboni in the early eighties and they have a daughter Lydia. Oboni finds Elonaore to be a cheater and unloyal to her promises. She has only one dilemma and its to protect year daughter Lydia interest with her broken father Obuni. Elonore and Oboni divorced when Lydia turned 15. 

Oboni promised Lydia her birth right by age 18. Oboni set sail later in a new life with a new bride but the children Ola, Anulichi, Lanre, Chidi and Ogechi they had became jealous of Lydia once they were of age. Oboni's eldest daughter Ola to his second wife was so jealous of Lydia that she set he standard so high that no man would date her, she later became a doctor.

Lydia scatter brain and excited about life could never pidgen holed herself into a job that she felt comfortable with. Lydia was easily board by things after a while. To spark her interest she'd have fun exploring new occupations every six months. 

Oboni returned home to North Nigeria and settled with his second wife to build his corporate empire. His wife Nneka was so beautiful that Oboni had guards to follow her everywhere in and outside their compound.

One year after graduation Oboni was set to visit all his children in the states. Much gossip about Lydia's inability to secure a job was sworming. She could write and she could design but too busy to settle on anything. The children decided that their eldest sister Lydia could not represent the family well so they choose Ola instead. Which meant 
that Lydia loosing right to her right in Arochuwu land. 

Oboni was no happy with their decision to remove Lydia because of the embarrassment. Lydia had one one more time to be on her father bad side. They even gossiped about the numerous relationships failed in Lydias life.

The families gathered together to explain all to Lydia about what would change in her life. Lydia was too busy in her teenage years to research who she was as Oboni's eldest daughter. She did not understand the ramification of loosing a birthright. With Ola now holding Lydia's birthright of her head she felt unaccomplished. 

Lydia never really liked her culture until she turned twenty-two. She was so enamored by the respect the men had towards their own. Ola became arrogant and bossy towards her sibling. She was set to gain everything back home for being Oboni's eldest daughter making Lydia the lost child.

There was no way for Lydia to redeem herself from all the embarrassment she caused her family so she called on a handsome suiter from her father town to explain to her what her family decided to give to Ola. This suiter Suma was exec to XEROX and he knew of Lydia from school. 

Suma broke down the validity of Lydia's behavior comparable to her families own. He explained her fathers history and culture along with high expectations of her combined families. 

Suma accepted Lydia and chastise her for not fighting for her birthright. HE explained that birthright could have secured her future with their people back home. 

Lydia later secures her birthright by default due to her father needing a blood transfusion for knee surgery. Suma and Lydia marry and have three kids.
